The Best Laid Plans

The best laid plans can often go astray. That’s why it is important to set them on a firm foundation and to be flexible.

What? You say?  Firm and flexible in the same sentence!!

The firm foundation is prayer. A conversation with God about His plans is necessary on a daily basis if we are to experience life to the fullest. I have to admit that the reason I share this is to remind myself. I often get swept away in the “get it done” mode. Before I realize it, I have marched down the path full steam…and have somehow managed to take a wrong turn.

This is where the flexible part comes in. I must be willing to trust Him. My plans may shift and morph as God reveals my next steps. So…

How will I know which way to go if I am not in conversation with Him?    I won’t.

How can I be flexible if I don’t trust and obey?    I can’t.

As I start down this new path of fullness, I will take time to keep this foundation solid so I can bend and sway every day.
